JD for Charlotte Selectboard

INTRODUCTION

My name is JD Herlihy and I am excited to be a candidate for the two-year seat on the Charlotte Selectboard. I am running because I care deeply about our town and believe we need leadership that listens to all perspectives, makes informed decisions, and takes thoughtful action to move Charlotte forward effectively.

With four years of experience serving on the Development Review Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment, I have developed a deep understanding of our town’s regulations, planning processes, and the importance of fair and transparent decision making. Additionally, I grew up in a small New England town where I served as chair of the Energy Committee, helping to secure several grants to update municipal buildings, reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs. This experience has reinforced my commitment to fiscally responsible, forward-thinking solutions that benefit the entire community.

Professionally, I have built a career in life sciences and technology, specializing in strategic planning, problem-solving, and collaboration. My leadership roles in product development, business operations, and innovation management have equipped me with the skills to analyze complex challenges, build consensus, and drive effective solutions—qualities that are essential in serving our town.

Charlotte is a special place, and I want to ensure that our community remains vibrant, welcoming, and well prepared for the future. I am grateful to those who serve our town and am eager to contribute to that tradition. I look forward to engaging with residents, hearing your concerns, and working together to shape the future of our town.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my candidacy!
